The United Church of Hinesburg, with roots in the American Baptist, United Church of Christ and United Methodist churches, welcomes visitors and participants from all faith backgrounds into our community. You do not need to be an official member of the congregation to attend services or volunteer with our social service programs.

Sunday, October 1st - Sunday, November 12th ~ 5:00pm-7:30pm~ Our middle school (5:00-6:00pm) & high school (6:30-7:30pm) youth groups will meet with a shared meal in between.
Wednesday, November 1st & Wednesday, November 15th ~ 12:30pm - 2pm ~ Our knitting/crocheting group will meet in the Parish Hall to work on our projects together and enjoy some fellowship time. Bring your project, new or old, or simply bring yourself. All are welcome - including beginners!
Friday, November 3rd ~ 6:00pm - 8:00pm ~ Sunday School Game Night; We will share a dinner of tacos and then play board games in the Parish Hall. Several will be provided but if you have one you’d like to share, please bring it with you that evening. Perhaps there’s one that you’ve re-discovered during our recent widespread power outages?? Sunday, November 5th ~ 11:15m ~ To prepare for our New Member Sunday on November 12th, we will hold a New Member Orientation during coffee hour to give new folks the opportunity to learn more about the United Church of Hinesburg, ask questions, and connect with other newcomers.
Thursday, November 9th ~ 6:00pm ~ New Member Dinner at the Hinesburgh Public House; This is an opportunity for those wishing to join the church and other newcomers to get to know folks from our congregation. Saturday, November 11th ~ 7:30pm ~ The Social Band will present their fall concert "Let the Sky Fall into Your Mouth", celebrating songs of food and drink. The suggested donation is $15/person.
Sunday, November 12th ~ Special Music Sunday featuring D Davis, a performance of "We Are the Church" by the UCH Children's Choir and the welcoming of new members.
Sunday, November 12th ~ 2:00pm - 4:00pm ~ Join the UCH Youth Group and local Art Educator Susan Lepple for an afternoon of creative forest/fairy house building to benefit the summer middle & high school youth service trips! We will have all of the supplies that you need to build an imaginative forest/fairy house to take home. All ages are welcome. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $25/person.
Tuesday, November 14th ~ 8:00am - 6:00pm ~ The Parish Hall will become a shared work space for HinesburgHUB - a group of local work-at-home professionals, independent contractors and frequent travelers looking to share ideas and achieve their business and personal goals. Saturday, November 18th ~ 9:00am - 1:00pm ~ Find something for yourself and gifts for others at our annual Holiday Bazaar's Grandmother's Attic, jewelry corner, arts & crafts tables and homemade baked goods sale. Lunch will be served between 11:00am and 1:00pm and features homemade soups and sandwiches. Each order includes a free dessert and free coffee is served throughout the day. For your shopping convenience a local wreath maker will have a variety of Christmas wreaths for sale in our parking lot that day.
Sunday, November 19th ~ One Room Schoolhouse Sunday School
Sunday, November 19th ~ 11:15am ~ Practicing God-talk will meet to discuss Vermont's state-wide goal for each public school district (Local Education Agency) to work toward a “community school” concept. Sharonlee Trefry, whose work with school nurses includes working with LEAs on implementation of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model, will lead the session. This model is one way to connect community resources with schools to meet the needs of all students and their families. Printable materials are available by typing “Vermont’s WSCC Information” (4 pages) or “Creating a Whole Community” (7 pages) into the search bar. Save as much as you can of 20 minutes for the discussion. Copies of both will be available on the table at the back of the sanctuary as you leave November 5th - November 19th.
Sunday, November 26th ~ No Sunday School; We will welcome guest speaker David Radcliff, Executive Director of the New Community Project. David travels widely around the U.S. speaking about living responsibly with the earth, living respectfully and justly with our neighbors, and confronting the culture of consumption for our own spiritual health and for the good of the planet, its people and coming generations.
Wednesday, November 29th ~ 12:30pm - 6:00pm ~ The Red Cross will host a blood drive in the UCH Parish Hall; Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment. If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please contact the church office.
